An 8-foot-tall polished stainless steel sculpture with sky blue tip ‘skyward’ this sculpture plays on the transition of ground to horizon to sky. The hand rolled panels on the front and back allow for the piece to absorb light and surrounding colour and distort it to reflect back in beautiful circular motifs. The high polished panel reaching up to the tip transitions from polished steel up into a sky-blue tip. With the integration of colour martin was able to draw the eye from the very base of the sculpture following the movement of the piece all the way up to the tip and into the sky. These sculptures not only encourage the viewer to appreciate the sculptures themselves but also invites them to appreciate and interact with the environment in which these sculptures live.
