Coming from a strong family business background, Ruth Liddle began her career in the Irish art industry with a degree from NCAD.

With over 20 years’ experience in the Irish art & retail business Ruth established GardenSculptures.ie in 2013 to offer & expose Irish made sculptures to both the garden lover & those working in the industry.

Ken Folan is best known for his numerous, successful large scale outdoor “Vanishing Art” exhibitions set throughout the grounds of Carton House, Maynooth, Co Kildare.

The resounding success of these exhibitions along with numerous medals won at Bloom for The Garden of Sculptures, led to Ruth & Ken collaborating in 2015 & opening The Kildare Gallery on the beautiful grounds of Carton House Hotel.

 

Since opening in 2015 the gallery has gone from strength to strength & is now the leading supplier of garden & outdoor art in Ireland. Annually they can be seen at Irelands Largest Garden Festival “Bloom in the Phoenix Park”, Summer shows at the beautiful Montenotte Hotel Cork & Irelands leading luxury shopping destination, Kildare Village.

about Carton House

The name ‘Carton’ comes from the old Irish name ‘Baile an Cairthe’ or Land of the Pillar Stone. Carton is a 1,100 acre fully walled estate. The boundary wall is over 5.5 miles in length and the estate itself stretches over two counties, Kildare and Meath.

Carton House is one of Irelands most historic Palladian houses and was the ancestral seat of the Earls of Kildare and Dukes of Leinster. Princess Grace of Monaco, Queen Victoria and Marianne Faithful are just a few of the famous guests to visit Carton House over the years.

Carton House hotel has undergone a highly anticipated restoration in 2020.The original house, lobby and reception area have all been sympathetically renovated .Carton House, home to the Kildare gallery is one of the most unique luxury hotels in Ireland.

The gallery is located beside the hotel spa, in the old estates Steward’s house, which dates to the late 1800’s. This charming house is the perfect space for an art gallery. The gallery is delighted to offer private tours for hotel guests.
