Daniel R. Robinson

Daniel works using images gathered by drawing, painting and photographing the landscape of Achill Island (situated off the West Coast of Ireland). The paintings deal with the feelings of being in and remembering a time and a place in the landscape as much as the visual aspect. Daniel has also become obsessed with Homer’s Odyssey and Greek mythology via music from the soundtrack to the Coen brother’s film “O Brother, Where Art Thou.“
“I was listening to this music while driving around Achill looking for places to work from and it fitted with the visuals that were hitting me, so I decided to go with it and allow it to affect the paintings. I’ll keep doing this until it’s all over.”
