Alison Barry

Alison Barry is a self-taught artist working from home in County Limerick.
She grew up in the countryside, which influences the way she perceived the world around her.

“Ireland, with all its beauty and its ruggedness is a constant inspiration. I’m fascinated by the sky, the seasons, the transitions of each day to night, and I try to show the emotion I feel through my paintings. The forgotten roads, old rundown cottages, the wildlife of Ireland are what attract me the most of all.”
“There is a story in the everyday things that surround us, and I paint those that I find most interesting. Every now and again I drift between what is real and my imaginary world which brings an illustrative quality and Fairytale element to my paintings.”

Alisons art can be described as contemporary in its feel, emotive, moody, and atmospheric.
